Word Whomp on Pogo Games is a word puzzle game that you will enjoy greatly if you like crosswords, Scrabble, Word Whomp Whackdown, QWERTY, word searches and the like. Word Whomp is played against the clock, there are three levels of difficulty, and you have a six letter word, jumbled up from which you have to pick out all the anagrams of three letters or more.

Alphabetics	Note that your Word Whomp blanks are filled in in alphabetical order. It seems obvious but some people do miss this when they first start playing. This characteristic is especially useful in finding words when you have almost filled your results grid and have just a few words left to puzzle out with time on your hands. Looking at the gaps in your result grid and the words on either side of a gap can often lead you to the first letter the missing word must start with, sometimes even the second letter too, and if not it tends to narrow down the options of which letter it could be. Top Tip: When in this situation, click the letter(s) you know the missing word starts with and not only will it help you visualise what it might be, it leaves less letters for you to sort through making narrowing down the possibilities easier.
3 Letter Triples	Once you have played a while, you will start to realise that many of the same 3 letter words to your Word Whomp game solution occur again and again. Sometimes there are so many three letter words it easy to overlook one or two. This tip helps you avoid such occurences by setting out the most common triples (three letter words that have two anagrams of themselves) that recur and, unlike Word Whomp Whackdown, if one of them is present then the others must be also. 3 Letter Pairs	There are several 3 letter words, that occur over and over that have a 'pair', or a second word that is an anagram of the first that must be present in your Word Whomp solution. If you get one, if you can then automatically get the other, you are far less likely to end up kicking yourself at the end of the game when you realise that you left out a three letter answer which, essentially, you had already spotted. Top Tip: We have included here a list not only of the most common pairs to occur, but also those pairs which include particularly tricky three letter words that can often be overlooked. Unmemorable Words	There are several 3 letter words, and a few 4 letter words, that occur over and over but for which some people find they have a 'blind spot' with the result that you miss them time after time. This can be very annoying, and studying the following list can be of great benefit as a memory aid to help you maximise your Word Whomp wins. Plurals	When there are one or more of the letter S in your six letters then you can be sure there will be LOTS of plurals. It is very easy to forget the odd one amongst, say, three dozen answers, not least because you will be physically pushed for time simply by the number of answers you have to complete. A good strategy is to enter the plural of each word you enter, as you enter it. This way you don't lose track and end up staring at the plural of a word you already 'got' that was omitted and cost you a perfect game.
Missing Words	You would expect all word puzzle games on pogo to use the same dictionary behind the scenes ... wouldn't you? It seems logical but this isn't the case. Word Whomp especially appears to be out on its own. One example is ER ending words tend to be thin on the ground, though perfectly allowable in other games. EG. CARE can become CARE-D and CARE-S but not CARE-R. Also, words such as TIT, RAPE and SLUT are disallowed. Do not waste time thinking you mis-clicked - they are simply not there along with quite a few others that you will come to know.
Anagram Server	Top Cheat: Use this exceptional free resource to enter the six letters of your current Word Whomp game and this will quickly return you all six letter words as well as many of the smaller words. As well as English it works in other languages for those Club Pogo memebrs playing the French or German versions. This is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in playing word puzzles, Scrabble, crosswords etc and for those interested there are parameters which can be added in the advanced section to include or exclude words, restrict multiple occurrences and such like making this an even more powerful tool as a crossword or Scrabble aid. 	Go Go Gopher Badge Tip If you are a regular player of Word Whomp this badge isn't too difficult to win, if not, then it can look quite formidable. Top Tip The easy way to win this badge is to keep hitting new game (be sure you have set level 2) until you get one with 12 or less words. Such games will often include a Z, X, Q or J among the letters. This looks daunting to the uninitiated but it shouldn't put you off! Very quickly you will realise there is only one possible six letter word. Often, there are no five letter words, or only one which is the six letter word without an R, D or S on the end, and just a couple of four letter words. Once you have these the three letter words should be easily gotten in the time remaining. This badge shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes.
	Gopher's Den Badge Tip This badge is exactly the same as the Go Go Gopher badge except you need to clear every word 3 times, but you don't need to be at level 2. Top Tip The easiest way to win this badge is to keep hitting new game until you get one with 12 or less words. Such games will often include a Q, Z, X or J among the letters. This looks daunting but it shouldn't put you off! Very quickly you will realise there is only one possible six letter word. Often, there are no five letter words, or only one which is the six letter word without an R, D or S on the end, and just a couple of four letter words. Once you have these the three letter words should be easily gotten in the time remaining. This badge doesn't require any particular level, but setting level 2 will ensure that a 12 word or less game comes along more quickly when you are hitting new game. This badge shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes.
